Our Story
Carl & Katie...
Owners of White Horse
Husband and wife, Carl and Katie Stairs, took the plunge and decided to make Norfolk their forever home after building a holiday home back in 2021 in East Runton. The couple went on to purchase White Horse in October 2023, and decided to set out on the ambitious journey to transform a dilapidated Bar and Grill in the heart of East Runton.
Embracing the historical roots of the region, the two chose to resurrect the venue’s former glory; from Sammy’s Bar and Grill back to the White Horse, as it was lovingly named in the 1890’s. With a nod to tradition and a vision for the future, they set about refurbishing the space with a modern yet chic aesthetic that harmonised seamlessly with the surrounding area.
White Horse, now under their watchful eye, stands as a testament to their unwavering commitment to the local area. A family-friendly Bar and Restaurant, attracting locals and visitors alike with its welcoming atmosphere and a seasonal menu that bridges the gap between tradition and innovation; showcasing a blend of timeless pub classics infused with a contemporary twist.
Whether you’re a long-time local or a first-time visitor, step into White Horse and savour a dining experience like no other.
